2004 - 2005 Chiang Mai
Junior Season Summary

Another action packed year:

  • CMSCA coaches continue to visit schools in the Sawasdee program every week in season
  • Four tournaments held this year
  • Expansion to Doi Saket district bore fruit with two Doi Saket teams winning tournaments : Chol Pratan Pratek won a grade 6 Tournament at Hang Dong in September. In January, Ban Mae Phong won the grade 6 tournament again at Hang Dong. Another school (Baan Chieng Doi) from Doi Saket area, joined the Sawasdee program.
  • PRC defended inner-city pride by winning the grade 5 tournament in December at PRC.
  • Thai Sports Teachers have made their presence felt as they became more involved in coaching the game. Their enthusiasm encourages students to play the game and for the first time we are getting grades 3 and 4 students playing cricket. That is a huge step forward as these younger players will develop more than the older players just because they will play much more cricket.
  • During the year Chiang Mai graduates of the Sawasdee program continued to develop as hardball cricketers – 2 boys represented Thailand at under-15 level at the Tuanku Ja’afar Cup in Malaysia – 7 boys represented the Kingdom at under –13 level in the Tuanku Ja’afar Cup held in Bangkok
  • The Sixes’sponsored Sawasdee Cricket Cup culminates another busy year.
  • Funding remains our biggest need.
