Sixes cricketers donations
to help junior cricketers

Showing they have a heart as big as the world, the Sixes cricketers opened their wallets and donated over 140,000 Baht to help some Chiang Mai junior cricketers who recently lost their home and schooling. The entire problem arose just prior to the start of the 2010 Sixes, but the "Duck Lady" Jenny Morgan took the problem in stride and set out to raise as much as possible to help the kids from from the Wat Don Chan area.

Silent auctions, direct appeals, and "duck fines" all played a part in the tremendous fund raising effort. The Sixes teams responded with typical generosity as the full scope of the problem became known.

With the funds raised, at least 15 hill tribe children will be able to live at the hill tribe hostel in Chiang Mai, continue their education, and continue to learn to play cricket. Instead of a life of no hope and no education, someday one of these children may play for Thailand.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this outstanding fundraising effort. Anyone wishing to help can contact Jenny Morgan through the contact page on this website.
