| It is a great pleasure for me to welcome participants in the 2005 Chiang Mai International Cricket Sixes. Eighteen years is a very long time to have kept this amateur tournament going without a pause. Its popularity is a tribute to all of those involved and a nice reflection on the timeless attractions of Chiang Mai as a wonderful place to visit.
Chiang Mai is proud to play host to what we believe is the world's biggest and certainly most popular international amateur festival of cricket. The addition of the Sawasdee Cricket Cup for Thai schoolchildren, now in its 6 th year, and the generous donations made by Sixes participants to Thai cricket development, have also significantly increased the reputation and importance of Chiang Mai Sixes in the local community.
May I wish you all a terrific week of sport and friendship. I hope you will enjoy another happy and memorable holiday in northern Thailand.
