| Every year, as the weather warms up in March /April we Thais start to seek out the nearest place in the shade, but it seems cricketers get an urge to come to the Gymkhana Club to run around in the sun! I know this is not a mistake or an error of judgement because many of you come back to Chiang Mai so regularly. Anyway, we are honoured and pleased that you should choose to play cricket and enjoy your holidays in Chiang Mai. And it is my great pleasure on behalf of the Chiengmai Gymkhana Club to welcome you all for the eighteenth year of Chiang Mai Sixes.
As the oldest sporting club in Thailand, it is fitting and we are proud that Gymkhana should play host to the Sixes, Chiang Mai's longest running international sports event. I understand too that on a worldwide basis, our little local Sixes has become probably the biggest, most popular amateur cricket festival around the globe. That is a tribute I'm sure to the enthusiasm of you all as Sixes participants, and to the on-going warm hospitality which I hope you will continue to enjoy from the people of Chiang Mai. May I wish you all good luck at this year's Sixes. Please make yourselves at home with our Gymkhana Club facilities and have a great week of sport, fun and friendship.
