 On
behalf of the people and city administration of Chiang Mai it is my great
pleasure to welcome everyone taking part in the 16th Chiang Mai International
Cricket Sixes and the 4th Sixes's Sawasdee Cricket Cup. It is with pride
and honour that our city is once more able to play host to this successful
and popular international sporting event.
That so many participants in the Sixes choose to return to Chiang Mai each year is surely a wonderful tribute to the success of the tournament, and also to the hospitality and holiday enjoyment you have found in our city. I understand that for a number of regulars, Chiang Mai has become almost your second home. That is a great compliment to us, and we hope that the bonds of friendship between us will continue to grow and strengthen. I understand the junior cricket program (now called appropriately Sawasdee Cricket!) which was begun through the generosity and efforts of Sixes's participants has continued to flourish, and that more of our local schools are now involved. We continue to applaud this initiative and thank you for the benefits it brings to our children. May I sincerely wish that you all enjoy another great week of sport and relaxation at this year's Chiang Mai Sixes - renew old friendships, make new ones, stay healthy, have fun and be a winner!
