from last year's Spoon Champion Schlungers team, arrived in C'Mai and were
quickly snapped up by the Earl to add championship strength to the Wombats
team (who immediately scored a Wombat record 72 for 1 to blow away the past
champions Ios Malakas, 49 for 2). Could this change the balance of power
in the Spoon ? The Wombats next match on Thursday against the Pectels 69s
should reveal the true strength of this new Wombats line-up.
Meanwhile, the Schlungers team is reported in disarray (and hence not entered in this year's event) -- an exclusive insider 'leak' to the Sixes's website reveals that several members of the team are known to have been consorting with "girl friends", one is even believed to gone so far as to lose weight, and Tolly, yes for it is he, TOLLY is about to be married! Fair do's, he is believed to have at least considered a week in Chiang Mai to prepare for the wedding. But it seems while the flesh was willing, the Tolly spirit had already adopted an unfamiliar sense of marital responsibility. A good man was Tolly, we wish him well in his new career. But seriously Tolly (for it surely is serious), VERY MANY CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES to you and your dear lady from everyone at the 15th Chiang Mai Sixes!
