The Shanghai Cricket Sixes tournament will be held in Shanghai over the
weekend of 6 and 7 July 2002, and would like to extend an invitation to associations,
clubs or interested individuals to participate in this year's event.
Shanghai is a city on the move and all visitors enjoy what it has to offer. I encourage you to nominate a team for the tournament, which promises to be a most exciting event. We will be playing at our new ground in Jingqao, where we will have laid the first ever cricket pitch in China. It is an Astroturf pitch with a cement base. An exciting addition for the 2002 event is our new 2-storey clubhouse, complete with changing facilities and a famous bar. There are regular flights between Shanghai and all major regional centres. For more "difficult" locations, we suggest using Hong Kong as a "gateway" to China. We are able to arrange excellent accommodation packages in good quality hotels in Shanghai. Please feel free to make any enquires about the tournament to any member of the Stein lager Shanghai team or Sixes "guru" Mike Maher. A non-refundable USD 500 fee is payable by all teams entering the competition. This will be the entrance fee for a team of 8 players. It will cover entrance to Friday and Saturday night events (Inc Food and Beer) for the team, Tournament Playing Shirts etc. Please remit this sum of money to the following account by Wednesday 17 April 2002: Bank: ANZ *This company is the official representative of the Shanghai Cricket Club for all financial matters relating to the Shanghai Cricket Sixes.
