Amjid Hussain
A natural leader of men, a colossus on the field and an allround excellent chap, Amjid’s talent and abilities are matched only by his modesty. He will attempt to mould this loosely assembled rabble into something resembling a touring party.
Mahboob Hussain
Aka Mr Kipling, an apt description given his tendency to chuck exceedingly good pies. Always a popular member of the touring squad in particular with the opposition batsmen who are always quick to take advantage of his natural generosity with the ball and improve their strike rates. Booby is an exceptional fielder of the ball and struggles only when he fails to pick up the ball, unfortunately this being the majority of the time given his bat like vision.
Nasir Khaliq
A seasoned tourist on his third visit to Chiang Mai, Nas will be bringing his unbridled enthusiasm and natural love of cricket to the tournament. He is the team motivator and is always up for the occasion particularly against the bigger teams. Nas has a huge eagerness which means that he is willing to drop everything and play at short notice and would play all day, every day if given the opportunity.
Arsalan Ijaz
Known for his powerhouse hitting and lively bowling, 2010 will be Arsalan’s second visit to the chiangmai sixes. He will be welcomed back with open arms particularly by the locals with whom he was a firm favourite. He is already aware that his old friend Chang and the boys can’t wait to see him for further fun times and a good laugh.
Ijaz Khan
The Enforcer. Jazzy makes sure that the squad stays in line and ill discipline does not prevail. Given to delivering rockets when the team is not performing and has been known to throw plates of chicken when particularly roused. second trip to the sixes for Jazzy and he remains a key figure of the touring party.
Sajid Hussain
A first trip to Chiang Mai for Saj who will be bringing his superman like abilities to the competition. Given that he always looks pretty in pink, Saj may need a little bit of guidance in how to avoid the unwanted attentions of some of the gender challenged locals.
Masood Butt
Maz gave up a potential career in cricket to take up a glamorous and exciting life in the fast paced world of Human Resources. He will be reluctantly taking a break from counting paper clips to participate in his first Chiang Mai Sixes competition and has been known to grumble about how unfortunate he is in having friends who force him to miss work and play in cricket competitions.
Hemant Kumar
Hemant arrives in Chiang Mai as an adopted pudding following a season of club cricket in Yorkshire. Here he learnt many things which have returned with him to Chennai where he can be seen in his flat cloth cap saying “Ee by gum” to passersby, stretching a 10 rupee budget to last him a year and reminding all those not born in Yorkshire of their inherent inferiority. Will very likely be found stood on his bat at the non-strikers end particularly if it’s the last ball of the over.
