2008 Team Photo of Perth Postels
Michael “Cat” Maher.
Will eventually make it back to Chiang Mai for his umpteenth tour to Chiang Mai. Looking forward for a few days of rest to relaxation in Chiang Mai. Was a part of the Cup Winning team in the Philippines last month, also hit his 4th six this year??
Saurav “Dolly” Chatterjee. The Dollywood will hopefully joining us again for an event he loves to partake in. Was an inspiration in the final in Phuket last year, hoping for a repeat this year in Chiang Mai? A brilliant team mate who we love having with us in Chiang Mai.
Andrew “Jonty” Green. Comes to us from Cluden CC in Melbourne, has been a proud Postels member for a few years now in Chiang Mai. Always on tip toes when playing the game, a particularly good fieldsman. As always adds depth to the touring group.
James “007” Billington.
No Postels tour would be complete without '00' on board and he returns for his 12th Chiang Mai soiree' having taken a year off dead for tax purposes! Do I hear the bells ringing again? Only in the Sugar Shack me thinks! A warm welcome back to our 'original' pommy postel.
Imran “Batman” Idrees.
He is a nice gentleman, I know strange for the Postels of past years. Loves the game of cricket and also is very proud to represent the Postels in Chiang Mai. Has a bad habit of always passing his vodka slammers onto the Cat all of the time!
Sudhir Tyagi.
A nice Indian fellow from Delhi who travels the world on cricket tours. Loves the game and plays in the right spirit. Was dying to come last year, but ended up in hospital virtually on his death bed. Thank goodness he was ok and able hopefully to join us this year.
Ben Hannah.
Tour virgin from New Zealand. Is also called mav.
He bats right handed and is a slow bowler for his home Club Weraroa Cricket Club, Levin, New Zealand. His favourite shot is one run to square leg. Most famous for his 80’s karaoke singing and not sharing the mic. Can find him in front of a mirror any good time.
Postels Supporters
Tracy “Sister” Thorgersen.
Joining us again, thank goodness, she will be tour Treasurer. Always a welcome sight with the Postels, now a senior Postel who will help us to make this yet another brilliant tour. Sis will also ensure solid support for Oi and the girls at the SugarShack Bar!
Dave ' Fish ' Salmon. 9th tour for the Fish who you will find in the Postels tent giggling into his beer at his mates expense though sooner or later he's going to get fielding duties, though I’ve said that for the last 8 years ! Hopes to manage more than 15 mins a night in the Shack this year without returning to his room to die of food poisoning!
Jim 'Mine's a Mekong' Jeffries. 6th Tour for Jimbo who will be found alongside the Fish in the Postels tent supplementing the Thai cigar, whisky and beer industry. Jim arrives in fine shape this year following a double shoulder operation so good to see him back after a stressful year.
Paul 'Buggy' Piper. Paul returns for his 3rd tour and makes up the trio of Pommy Postels who will build their daily tinny mountains in the tent! Paul is usually Jim's official
golf buggy driver but as Jim can’t play this year he is available for hire by anyone with a decent supply of Guinness!
