CHRIS COLEY (Manager) Cheltenham College Old Boy, MCC & Race Horse(s) Owner.
Having navigated his way through a tricky four days at Cheltenham Races in his new Porsche sports car, Mr Coley returns this year with two youthful new squad members from his old school.
Don’t forget to pick his brains when placing your bets for the Grand National which coincides with Sixes Finals Day.
MIKE TERRINGTON (Assistant Manager) Gloucestershire CCC Over 50’s.
The right arm off spinner has been homing his skills with winter training here in Thailand and also Dubai. Known as ‘The Baron’ he recently received the all clear from the club physio, Steve Davies, on condition that he maintains his prescribed course of medication throughout the trip.
PAUL DREW ex Western League Cricketer and Property Magnet.
Drewy, the coolest man on tour, has been limiting his international playboy duties of late, choosing to focus on his race horse interests. Known as Lord Lucan he has a habit of disappearing whilst in Chiang Mai but you can always count on him to be ever present when required.
GRAHAM CLARKE ex Yorkshire CCC 2nd XI and Gloucestershire CCC Over 50’s
The canny Yorkshire man and ex offshore Banker managed to off load his toxic assets last year and has spent the winter stockpiling. The organisers have shipped in a Steinway grand in the hope that he will accompany Mr Johnson on stage.
MARK BRIERS ex Worcestershire CCC, Durham CCC & MCC.
Yes, the man, who put the fist into sophistication, is back after pre-season training in the USA & Canada. Whilst there he met and fell in love with an actress by the name of Miriam from Montreal. He can’t stop talking about her but I’m sure this won’t stop him FROM focusing on his middle wicket!
BILL JOHNSON ex Durham CCC & Tour Musical Director.
Mr Johnson is looking forward to spending quality time with his roommate Mr Briers after attending the 4/5/6 Birthday celebrations here in Thailand last October. After the tournament he intends to retrace his steps by once again returning to Cambodia, Viet Nam and Burma.
DEAN MORRISON ex Marchwheel CC Hired Gun.
Deano makes his second appearance this year for the Gipsies. The senior management are hopeful that he is able to complete his quota of matches as last year, you may recall, he bailed out before the semi-finals, having been lured away by the very attractive Deborah to some remote island in the Andaman Sea.
BRUCE MASON Cheltenham College Old Boy.
The former pupil of Mr Briers is making his debut this week with the sound knowledge that his old schoolmaster will show him the way forward on and off the field. At time of writing little was known about this newcomer. However, I’m sure at time of reading, he will be well established as a valuable team player.
JAMES SHACKLETON Cheltenham College Old Boy.
Recently divorced from Charlie Hall’s sister, ‘The Shack’as his known to his fellow Cheltonians, is the great great grandson of the famous explorer Ernest Shackleton, who sailed to the South Pole in 1907. He will be continuing his ancestor’s good work by thoroughly exploring the back streetsof Chiang Mai.
