romany

2007 Team

Paul Lack – Captain

Now on his 9th consecutive Chiang Mai 6's with Romany, Jack Frost
and Ashwell including getting to the giddy heights of the grand final two years ago. He has
also played for the Surrey Vagrants and Romany in the 6s at Sarasota, Florida, Morocco and
Portugal.

Neil Billing – Vice Captain

Another experienced Chiang Mai campaigner who has also
played in the Sarasota 6's. Well known for his ‘recommendations' and survival on two hours
sleep a night! Useful military medium bowler who likes to open the batting. One
recommendation too far I expect!

Clive Grierson

The second time to Chiang Mai for our experienced tourist and wicket
keeper. As one of three keepers in the squad, will inevitably have to bowl which could be
interesting. Another member of the ageing youth policy employed by Romany and no doubt
his stamina at Foxy's and the Spotlight will bolster the team's fortunes.

Ollie Youll

The first time to Chiang Mai for Ollie and we are looking to him to make our
runs. He has already booked his flight for next year on the ‘recommendation' of our vice
captain.

Ed Buxton

Toured with Romany to Sri Lanka last year. Another Chiang Mai virgin who
hails from Somerset, he will be required to do a lot of running in the outfield!

Roly Oliver

A first time for the Aussie with a British Passport! Known as "Elbows" but don't
ask why. He is a specialist in SAT.NAV so if he arrives late for the first match you will
understand. A solid all rounder who has also played in the Sarasota 6's.

Harry Karim

A C.M virgin and a long time resident of UK with Iraqui ancestry Harry took to the game late but is legendary on the Kent circuit for his slow boomerang like swing bowling..often referred to as his "WMD's" which has mesmerised many a batsman most famously during his 5-35. Claims that he will be a revelation should he be asked to bat although evidence of this in short supply!!! Harry should be particularly well suited to the gruelling "off field" activities and we feel sure that StorkA will leave his indelible mark.Represents both Tenterden & Marden C.C.'s.in kent.

Kamal Prabhakar

A first visit for Kamal to Cmai and Foxy Lady. Previously captained Ilford CC in Essex and probably comes out of the same stable or ‘unstable' as Ashley Cowan who came with us 3 years ago. Another teetotaller ! Likes scoring runs against Woodford Wells and will be keen to impress on and off the field.
