2007 Team

The Irish Pub is back for its 10th sixes!  Watch out for this outfit this year.  In Chiang Mai we have been playing so much cricket this year we may actually be in form.  Practices have been had, matches played and fitness programs in place.  Our manager Sandy is totally confused at this UN - Irish Pub lead up to our yearly run around, he has been trying to get us to drink more vodka in training for other parts of the tournament.

Sandy

Our long serving and long suffering manager (well that’s what he says).  Sandy has been looking forward to the Cricket Sixes all year.  The Irish Pub has this year formed a close relationship with the Chiang Mai Cricket Club and is sponsoring a team – The Irish Pub team is coming last in the league and most of the team don’t drink!  Fear not Sandy at least we will be drinking!!

Dean

The one eyed skip is back.  He will be trying to emulate last years performance of not having to bat once in the whole tournament (and played every game).  Known to hand out the odd Zambucca and talk a lot!

Noor

The first of the Irishstanies in the line up.  Picked because he is actually shorter than the skipper.  One of the cleanest hitters in Chiang Mai and a very straight bowler.  Watch for the dance displayed at various times during games.

Chris

Has fully recovered from last years delicate top edge into his chin (how it missed his nose has been the subject for long debate around the Irish Pub).  Again Chris has threatened to bowl and again he has been calmly told to go take his pills and shown the scorecard from the last time he did.  Will again be donning the loud orange keeping gloves and space age pads.

Makki

Another Irishstani.  One of the most talented cricketers to grace the Chiang Mai cricket scene in recent times.  The fast bowling, big hitting left hander is still trying to work out what goes best with Spey Royal at breakfast.  Young, fit, excitable and full of holes watch out for this class act.

Ismail

Irishstani 3!  This round arm right handed slinger is quite simply the tightest bowler in Thailand cricket and one of the best stalkers of a batsman to come out of South East Asia.  He also packs a punch with the bat.  We are still trying to convince him that you appeal AFTER the batman has hit it!

Wannie

The journeyman returns.  We are never quite sure who Wannie will play each year.  The Irish Pub employed 3 lawyers and threatened to confiscate his 14 cricket bats if he did not play for us this year.  With the deal now signed we are expecting big things from this big hitting Cashmere legend.
