2007 Team
Minhaj Ahmed Shafil
The old war horse….although he keeps very busy at work, he does take time off for nets, a solid middle order batter and arguably a big hitter of the cricket ball. Plays a bit of cricket over weekends. He has been participating at the CM 6s for the past 5 years now and has managed to gather quite a name for himself. He has led the Cricketeers to glory (Cup Champions) 2 years ago. Looks in good shape this year.
Athar Ali Khan
Exceptionally good with women. A very nervous cricket commentator for Star Sports. Played for Bangladesh National side many years ago. Has been a selector for the BCB in the recent past. Still very impressive at the nets. Bowls well. Good luck Athar.
Faruk Ahmed
Was once Captain of the Bangladesh National Team. He still lives up to his reputation of not showing up for practice for weekend cricket. Has been the Chief Selector for the BCB. The burly 42 year old never gives up on anything. Recently started his own furniture business.
Khaled Mahmud
Has also skippered the Bangladesh National Team. Currently works for the BCB and is in charge of the Cricket Academy. Has done very well for himself. Although he has retired from professional cricket, still very serious with the game in the weekend circuit. It'll be nice to see him again in action for the Cricketeers at the CM 6s 2008.
Rehan Rashid
Thinks himself to be one of the best all rounders. Popularly known to his friends as "Kallu". A very moody young man. When he hits a cricket ball – it stays hit!! Has made a name in the weekend arena for his indiscipline. (bit lucky to make the squad if he isn't an ex-National captain – ed)
Masudur Rahman
Has taken up the job as an umpire recently after retiring from professional cricket. Was called for chucking during his stint as a cricketer. The tall and lanky off spinner is always very charged up and is quite a task to handle sometimes. (Over to you Hagar – ed.).This will be his second year with the Cricketeers at the CM 6s.
Sakib R Chowdhury
Still plays a bit of cricket at the highest level. A very well behaved guy who is always willing to help out team mates. Unfortunately, has been playing for his side as the 12th man during the past 3 years in the league for reasons unknown. Hope he can do justice to his cricket career and show us some brilliance at CM.
Murshed Ali Khan
Has been a regular for the Bangladesh side for quite a few years but got really famous with the women at CM since last year. Has been planning this trip since the end of last year's 6s – what a character.
Muniruzzaman
A very hard hitting batsmen. Only just retired from professional cricket. Doesn't talk too much but once he gets going with his bat, it's absolutely brilliant to watch him while at the crease. This will be his first ever visit to CM.
