Tournament Format


To avoid delays in a packed schedule, all matches (except finals) are played in pairs. So, the first innings (Batting) of Match A is followed by the first innings (Batting) of Match B. Then the 2nd  innings of Match A is played, followed by the 2nd for Match B, and so on….

2007 Tournament

27 teams in main competition, 6 teams in spoon competition.

MAIN TOURNAMENT (CUP, SHIELD, BOWL , PLATE)

Round 1 9 groups of 3 teams, round robin.
   
Round 2

CUP DIVISION

9 group winners - 3 groups of 3 round robin.

BROMLEY SHIELD

6 best* runners-up – 2 groups of 3 round robin.

SIXES BOWL

Next 3 runners-up plus 3 best* 3rd placed teams) - 2 groups of 3 round robin.

JOE CARPENTER PLATE

3 remaining 3rd placed teams - 2 groups of 3 round robin.



   
ROUND 3:      

CUP ELIMINATOR

2 lowest cup round 2 teams play off for a place in the quarter finals.

CUP QUARTER FINALS

8 remaining teams

SHIELD, BOWL, PLATE

2nd and 3rd placed teams from opposing round 2 groups play for a place in the semi final.

   
ROUND 5:       Semi Finals in all 4 competitions.
   
ROUND 6:       Finals in all 4 competitions.

*BEST = according to points, then run rate off the bat

NOTE:  See Sixes Rules (Page 70-72) Section C for points scoring , including bonus points system. A panel of Judges (Unbiased, Inscrutable Veterans we promise) will assess Round 2  Division qualifications & team  pairings should the Round 1 system fail to produce clear, deserving winners. The decisions of these venerable judges if required, will be final. Okay.  

SPOON COMPETITION 

6 team round robin plus final.
