Text Box:

The BG's were founded in 1947 and hail from Dog Shit Park in Goodmayes (Ilford, Essex).  We have a long tradition of touring the scenic playing fields of England and over the last decade have also dis-graced arenas in Australia, Europe, USA and SE Asia.

2007 will be our third (and no doubt equally pathetic) attempt at participating in the Chiang Mai Sixes.  Not many compared to some of the veteran teams but it is the only hat-trick we are ever likely to get !! Except of course when Bill "Vladimir Ilich Tolstoy Breshchnev Sharapova" Darchiashvili-Elsom took that full stretch one hander at first slip off another Lovee long hop

Attendee's:

Raj Boparai (Bopareeee) - There is no "I" in R Bopara, but there is in "impostor" !! A schoolboy error from David Graveney means that Bopareeee will be in Chiang Mai for the third consecutive year instead of representing England at the World Cup in the West Indies. Bopareeee is our "spirit"ual leader !!  The go to man when runs, wickets, beer, accommodation and a sense of humour are in short supply

Mark Molinari (Mole) - Mole is an official CBB member but we can't imagine Mole ever behaving badlee.  He is the voice of reason in an ocean of Singha. Mole's flashing blade spends most of its time on the golf courses of Perth these days but seeing the Sixes are played on a golf course, we're hoping Mole might bring his 1 wood with him, as are the girls of Chiang Mai no doubt !!

Sarbjit Rai (Little Tinkle) - Nothing could be further from the truth!  There is nothing little about Sarbee's tinkle.  His underwear conceals all manner of surprises. Sarbee has tinkled from Eastern Europe to SE Asia.  Hopefully he might be able to tinkle the odd wicket or run this week

Manjit Matharu (Dread) - There's a rumour going round that the recent political unrest is a result of the prospect of a vast influx of overseas capital.  We can now confirm that Dread is only bringing two hundred and fifity pounds to Thailand and will not deliberately destabilise the economy but do his best to distribute his wealth amongst all the bars of Chiang Mai !!

Ranjit Singh (Randy) - The ultimate tourist – not !! A perfect gentleman – not !! The diplomat of our squad – not !! We all need one – not !!  In the middle of the week when things are going pear shaped and the boys need a second wind or a pep talk, we can always rely on Randy to make things worse than they already are. Bookies favourite for this year's Turd of the Tour !!

A Garden Gnome (Ray) - A last minute call up to the squad. Please see below

Non Attendeeee's:

Chris Love (Lovee) - Unlikely to make the squad cos' he is a selfish b*st*rd who works in places no-one wants to visit.  He will be unemployed soon, so hopefully he will give more consideration to his mates and choose to work somewhere they could come and visit.  Come on Lovee, get your arse over to Hawaii !!

Jarnail Dail  (Jenny) - The BG's Beckham! Hair, flair and devil may care! Happy to be the 12th man and fill the breach when required, which in a 6 a side tournament happens more often that not in our side.  Punctuality is not his strong point. Jenny blames the committee for asking him to patronise all the sponsors.

Adam Sheekey (Sheeks) - Before suffering a broken leg last year, he was known as The Sheek of Tweak, but since having the steel pins inserted into his leg and having taken up motor bike racing, he is now known as Barry Sheeks. Feel free to thumb a lift - cheaper than getting a tuk-tuk !!

Racham Singh (The Little Donut) - The plumber with the plunger who is a big fan of Harry Potter was originally in the depleted squad, but was dropped for a garden gnome instead. Would have been the favourite for Turd of the Turd

"Remember! Team spirit is built in the showers."
