I am pleased and proud to welcome all of the participants in the 2006 Chiang Mai International Cricket Sixes to our beautiful northern province. I am told that some of the teams at this year’s tournament have been coming to Chiang Mai for every one of the nineteen years that this amateur tournament has been held. That is a remarkable record. Such faithful support is surely a tribute to all of those involved in organizing the Sixes , and a wonderful reflection on the attractions of Chiang Mai.We are proud to play host to what is perhaps the world’s most popular international amateur festival of cricket. The support you have provided for the project to develop cricket as a sport among Thai schoolchildren, is a generous contribution to the wellbeing and education of our youth. Thank you for your continuing donations and efforts towards achieving this goal. I hope you will all enjoy a happy, healthy and memorable week of cricket and fun in northern Thailand.
