SURREY VAGRANTS

Surrey Vagrants - 2005

Clive Huggins ( Silver Fox)
Plays for Cobham Avorians and Leatherhead CC in Surrey. Third visit to Chiang Mai with Surrey Vagrants. Lost in final in 04 but good performances from the other five secured the cup in the main competition in 05. Hoping to do well again this year if  he can convince squad not to over indulge themselves too much prior to match days. Now accepts that he is a veteran.

Jeremy Hinds (Caveman)
Jeremy will captain Cobham Avorians for season 06. Probably played his best league cricket in 05 with several hard hitting batting performances and steady spin bowling all of which he hopes to emulate in Chiang Mai. Lost a few kilos in recent months so much is expected of him both on and off the field!!

Paul Prichard (Prich)
Ex Essex captain. Claim to further fame is a mention in Nasser's Book. Since has played for Berkshire in the Minor Counties League and frequently plays for a Avorians on Saturdays. Cricket Coach to Cranford College in Dorset and always willing to offer encouragement and welcome advice to those of less ability.

Carl Crowe (Crowy)
Ex Leceistershire CC. Now plays with Prich for Berkshire. Insisted on coming again this year after performing well in 05 and we are only too pleased to accommodate him and exploit his pugnacious batting technique and mean spin bowling. Currently Cricket Coach at Leceister Montessori Grammar School.

Mark Higgs (Buddha)

Ex Cobham Avorians overseas star. South Australia State Player but a season at Avorians put paid to that although now back in the frame less a number of kilos. Great guy to have in the squad. It is to be hoped his performances in 06 are as good and exciting as his talent displayed in 05.

Matthew Daykin (Daykes)
Australian "Butcher" or at least he is with the bat. Superb allrounder and has played for the Avorians for a number of years being resident in the UK. Now back in Aus and is stopping off Chiang Mai en route to the UK where he will be the overseas player. Enjoys apres cricket with a particular penchant for the ale and female company.
