Jameson's Dilettantes

Jameson's Dilettantes - 2005Dilettante n. & a. 1. n. Lover of the fine arts; amateur; one who toys with subject or studies it without seriousness. 2. a. Trifling, not thorough; amateur. [It., f. part. of dilettare f. L delectare DELIGHT]

GREG BICKNELL
Our skipper travels as a single man for the first time in 13 years and has already dropped plenty of weight pursuing replacements around the track. Still manages the odd game in Darwin, a bit of a dark horse this year. Watch for Jeckle & Hyde.

ROGER WECKERT
The internet king will no doubt be joined by various on-line companions during the week, interrupted only by the occasional game of Sixes. The complete tourist, just look for the guy with the neon flashing sign above his head reading "tourist".

PADDY ILLIDGE
After threatening to join the Dilettantes for many years, and having acquired a taste for sanuk lifestyle while on posting in Cambodia, we expect huge things from the big fella this year. Has felt out of place since returning to Darwin from Cambodia. Will be at home in Chiang Mai.

GARY HANCOCK
Loso has been an on again off again proposition to tour this year after a job transfer from Darwin to Melbourne. Once again, can not shake the "youngest on tour" tag even though he reaches the milestone of  10 Chiang Mai Sixes. Keen to make the most of this tour as it could be his last for a while.

CHRIS HUBBARD
Ravi has always been the quiet achiever, expect to see him popping up at all hours of the night & day in the most unexpected places. Has promised a big surprise on his ninth tour – maybe he'll make some quick runs!

CHRIS HERON
As per usual, Wally takes the role of tour manager (anything to keep him from playing). Has been seeking the services of an assistant. Has come to the right place.

STEVE TATZENKO
Drink drink drink, fall down, get up, drink drink drink, "food? What's that?"….. drink drink drink, "oh cricket"…. Drink drink drink.

BEN STORY
Toured Sth Africa with the Darwin boys. Could fly in & fly out very quickly to his first Chiang Mai Sixes.
May be a short stay but will definitely be a memorable one. Sure to be a lack of sleep to cram what he can into the week. Listen out for the "Aaaroooga".

ERIC SMITH
Occasional spectator at previous Sixes, joins us sans wife and will no doubt keep the boys at the boundary bar busy.

JIM FORD
Read all about Jim in the umpires pen portraits, but they don't know him like we do.
