Paul Stanfield
Captain, and ex-Loughborough sports science graduate, Paul is a hard-hitting, early order batsman and very occasional bowler - the
last time was 1997! Due to injuries and lack of ability, has taken up wicket-keeping late in his career.
Andrew Copeland
Former, highly successful, Javea captain, opening bat and right arm (very) slow bowler. Allegedly retired from his insurance
and financial services businesses, he has been able to turn his attention to being co-owner of an international school
and an Irish pub! The latter being the venue of regular team strategy meetings.
John Braithwaite
"Flipper" is the dolphin trainer at Sea World, Benidorm. A Yorkshireman who doesn't have deep pockets and
short arms, just an increasingly vague memory following Saturday meetings in the Irish bar, which he tries to attend without
fail.
Pete Hill
"
Pete-the-meat" - chef, hard-hitting middle-order bat and occasional bowler who always gives 100% (and takes 10%).
Young, free and single for this tour - well, he's on his own again anyway. He's been in training extensively
for this trip, although not sure that he'll be able to find many bottles of Coronita in Thailand.
Tom Rowe
Old "Red Sack" is our UK import, retained despite last year's "caught and bowled fiasco". Equally
valuable with bat and ball - all things are relative! Given the age of the squad, expect to see him cover a great deal
of ground this week - well his shadow will anyway!
Andres Copeland
The younger and (he tells us) better looking of the "Copeland clan", he is a right-handed batsman, bowler and
Singha drinker. Rumour has it that he is Pete's minder! Given John's experience last year, he is in charge of
all taxi fares.
