Team at 2002 Sixes
Anne "Bottoms Away" Dawson
Our leader from behind, which is why she is one of the judges for the
"best bum" contest. She generally has the score right at the
start of a game, but not often thereafter. Now more confused than ever
having scored two 11-a-side games this year. Went off for tea after the
fifth over!
Rhonda "Outback" Vincent
Our regular visiting Aussie, stopping off in Chiang Mai before going
to Hua Hin to cause Sixes teams more trouble. She comes from the barren
outback of Oz, so is quite at home with the rare wild life on the Sixes
field. Very generous with the "extras" in the scorer"s
box.
Ron "Smart Pants" Farrer
Our immaculate book man from Darjeeling, who actually claims to understand
cricket! This considerably extends the arguments in the box about interpreting
the umpires signals, while the game proceeds unwatched.
Ric "Convict" Richardson
Our resident literary Aussie is back on the box us again. He knew nothing
about cricket two years ago but has learnt a lot writing his prize-winning
books about the early convict settlers. Let"s hope he can keep the
sentences short when he fills in the score sheets.
Brian "Hairy Legs" Neve
Our number one hanger-upper, back for another session on the edge of
the score board. After a week to recover from jet lag, he"ll eventually
get the hang of the new rules, at least until cold tea time.
Peter "Trouble" Dawson
Our reserve hanger-upper, if he survives coping with the junior cricket.
Easily distracted, particularly by long legs. We will try to stop him
making speeches this year some hope!
