Team at 2002 Sixes
Elfrado Roberts
Known as Rob, 4th appearance in the Chiang Mai sixes. Originally from
the West Indies, grew up in England and played for many years in the Yorkshire
League. Used to be a half decent bowler but of late have concentrated
on batting.
Paul Phillips
The baby of the team who will be making his third appearance at the tournament,
a big hitter when he connects with the ball. I am not sure about his bowling
as he has not been seen practising since the last tournament.
Jez Lees
Another veteran of the tournament who will be making his third appearance.
A useful golfer and footballer but his bowling has gone to pot so he has
taken up wicket-keeping.
Steve Ross
The joker in the pack, he is the life and soul of the party and has kept
many spectators and fellow cricketers amused on the three previous occasions
that he has competed in the tournament. He is quite a decent golfer, if
only he could hit a cricket ball like he hits a golf ball, we would be
walking off with the trophy.
Graham Macro
This will be Graham's first trip to the tournament. He now resides in
Pattaya, where he is a slow bowler and a steady batsman, more suited to
opening in a five day game.
John Dunn.
This is his 4th visit to Chiang Mai and he has played for 5 different
teams [which tells us loads about his ability ed.] A veteran right arm
slow bowler, sometimes so slow that he sends the batsmen to sleep. Has
been known to bore the opposition into submission after a game.
Paul Cooper
Second visit to the Chiang Mai Sixes, a swashbuckling left arm quick
bowler with a tendency to bowl more like Steve Harmison than Glen McGrath.
A genuine all-round nice guy and a good sportsman. Last year, played for
and invented the name of his team Halylt.
Rob the mystery Pectel
Last but not least, this mystery man has not been seen recently so it
has been impossible to discover which surname he is currently living under.
He has played a couple of games in Pattaya and he looks like he once was
a decent all-rounder. If he turns up he could be an asset to the team.
Rumour has it that some twenty odd years ago he played for a county boys
team.
