Lamma CC started out in 1992 as a very social cricket team on an island
in Hong Kong. Ten years later, the Club is well established and became
Saturday League Champions this year. Besides the solid league team we
have a thriving social squad and players from both squads are from all
over the world.
The Club has gone on many tours including Australia, China, Sri Lanka,
Vietnam and the Philippines besides Thailand.
Once a year Lamma CC put on a black tie event called The Cricketers'
Ball to raise funds and we are also sponsored by Alex Fraser Ltd, Hongkong
Electric & The Island Bar.
We are very happy to be participating in our first Chiang Mai Sixes event.
Chris Coombes
Opening batsman & wicket keeper, has vowed not to miss another overseas
sixes trip after the success of the Shanghai Sixes (Plate winners) so
long as his wife lets him.
Alex Griffiths
A popular member of the team, perhaps because he owns the popular bar,
Barco, in Hong Kong, he is a quick bowler and pourer. Knows a good shot
when he sees one however, not so hot on the chasers.
Ian "Chucker" Harling
No chance of being confused with one of the star players, the supposedly
most mature one of the squad is a handy medium pacer & regular tail-ender
who likes to open. Would like to point out that the knickname does not
derive from bowling.
Johnno Seifman
Hard hitting batsman and drinker, the diminutive hairy fella loves to
get stuck in to anything that's going on or off the field.
Keep your head down when he's batting (or bowling or drinking).
Brad Tarr
Captain of the HK domestic league winning team and all rounder will
lead by example a daunting task for the rest of the team and a not altogether
healthy one at that. A keen competitor, will make sure the team are in
bed before 5:00am each night.
Alister McMillan
Big Al 's first venture overseas with the LCC, we hope the experience
doesn't put him off his cricket. A bowler with Scrooge-like figures,
"Macca" is also a steady batsman and bottle opener. Puts the rest of us to
shame with
his clean-cut image.
