STEVE CHRISTIE (Crunch) - Tour No. 5 - Has toured every year since
1998 & always enjoys the Chiang Mai cricket experience. Bribed enough
people last year to win the Player of the Tournament. Looking forward to renewing
old drinking acquaintances & relaxing around the pool with a Heineken
or three.
IAN LIDDELL (Reds) - Tour No. 5 - Also has been touring since 1998
& is well versed in the cultural aspects of Thailand. Never counts the
number of beers he has before 6.00pm, as these are just warm up beers before
the real drinking begins.
TROY HARVEY (Harves) - Tour No.5 - Team security officer who prides
himself on his strict training regime. Bowled last year in the Hua Hin Sixes
& was smashed to all parts of the field (by a woman). Consequently will
be looked at closely for the wicketkeeper's job in Chiang Mai.
DAVID YARROW (Doob) - Tour No.4 - Doob missed last year's tour &
is raring to go this year after the lay off. His cricket form is as good as
it was 40 years ago. I am not sure if this is good or bad. Will be shakin'
his ass all over the place.
DARRELL MEPHAM (Monster) - Tour No.3 - Monster is one of our touring
golf professionals. Looking for a few hole in ones. Enjoys the cricket from
a well positioned deck chair, always has a copious amount of beer available
to quench his thirst.
STAN SPINK (Spinky) - Tour No.2 - Stan is our other golf professional
who will be keeping Monster company around the golf courses of Chiang Mai.
Will also be with him at 2.00am around the bars of Chiang Mai & Bangkok.
Might get a game of cricket with one of the spoon sides, if his body can be
persuaded to agree to this arrangement.
GARY FOSTER (Gazza) - Tour No.2 - Gazza toured a few years's ago with
the Warathai's & has managed to return this year. His claim to fame on
the last trip was snaring the prized wicket of former test player Amil Silva.
Will be hoping to inflict more damage on the careers of other former test
players this tournament.
MICK BURNS (Burnsy) - Tour No.1 - First tour for Mick & is looking
forward to the event, particularly after all the stories he has heard. Is
a 1st Grade umpire back in Newcastle, but let's not hold that against him. Will
be one of the umpires at this tournament and open to bribery as long as the
price is right and the beer is cold.
GAVIN SHAW- Guest player for the Warathais. - Currently appears in
the reruns of FT roop as Captain. President of Yarrambat Cricket Club and is
believed to have attended the Chris Taylor fielding academy. If Gavin offers
you a lift after midnight, take the tuk-tuk. Has recently increased his health
insurance cover.
