PERTH "PARTHENOGENESIS" POSTELS

Perth Postels

Michael 'Cat" Maher: (Sir Cat Warlock of Perthshire)
Now a long time Chiang Mai member who created the Perth Postels Touring party. This has led to being part of the official organizing team to promote the Chiang Mai Sixes around the world. Sounds good, but is more known among locals to be an "All nighter" who is often seen heading for his hotel room when most people are getting up for breakfast.

James '007' Billington: A "Pommie Postel" who has become a devoted member of the Postels Group and once again will be a big part of the team, hopefully will bring to greater heights, at least at bar level. Will be encouraged to adopt more of a media role this tour, mingle in with the crowds at functions and be on the lookout for potential supporters. Has had many rolls in the past but has definitely found a home with us.

Mark (Blaze) Wiley: Blazing Wiley can be explosive with the bat or ball, if not both, in one or the other. Will be an asset to the team and will find Chiang Mai to his liking. Certainly a social chap who will mix with the crowd and enjoys a beer or two. Will seek guidance from the experience members of the party on this tour and can only gain a great benefit from the trip.

Chris "Cheetah" Maher: Just when you mention the newest cat member to join the touring party, Cougar decides to bring along her only "Litter". Cheetah who is sharp in the field and seems to show a quickness in his bowling, as long as he stays away from the night training sessions. Once the Cheetah has his eye in he can be exciting with the bat, even before he gets out onto the ground. Beware, Cheetah will be seen striking at the bars.

Kenny 'Super Mild' Jackson: Is a great talent on and off the field. Never fails to party. He showed us that he can seek out the females, coach the females almost to victory, and proved last year, that above all, is a very attractive female impersonator.

Greg 'Bullet' Cross: A former star of the Bayswater Postels Cricket Club. Big things are expected from this man Bullet on and off the field. Be a candidate to out talk the Cat at the SugarShack bar. Come on Bullet show us what you've got.

Daniel Reid: Son of Postel great and Life Member Frank Reid, so if that is anything to go by he will play long and hard (on and off the field). Is the Junior of the touring party and many things are expected of him, especially to look after the senior team members Cat and Crossy late at night.

Michael 'Daffy' Kapiteyn: As a Chiang Mai virgin in every sense of the word, a raw egg on the belly is expected only minutes into Daffy's first massage of the tournament. Daffy received his nickname due to his uncanny resemblance to Wayne 'Daffy' Larkins, but now without his mate Gooch fighting his corner, poultry returns
are again expected. Good luck Daffy.

Absent Perth Postels:

Rex 'Slydog' Evans: The Hanging Judge of the crew who has been stirring the Postels Pot for years. Rumour has it that he has settled down, so our money coffers should swell in 2002. More known for his skills of issuing everyone in Chiang Mai with nicknames than his ability to wield the bat.

Patrick 'Minder' Anderson: Looks like not making it to the event this year but has vowed to return next year. The Gentle Giant is most known in Chiang Mai for clubbing the cricket ball all over the golf course! (Never know, he may turn up)

Dixie Joy: Another wedding commitment that again he can't get out of, cost him a place in the final last year. Rumour has it that he may be in Chiang Mai for part of the week and have the odd game. Always involved in Swim Throughs.

Supporters:

Toni 'Cougar' Maher: The newest member from the Cat family to join the touring party who also has displayed leadership ability, by organizing the cricket teams at the ground and assisting the score board people. Talk about control. The whole show will be over run by Cats. Cougar is just like the rest of the cat family, enjoys a good time and loves to help....mmm wonder if that has something to do with the drink.

Karyn 'Kitten' Brown: Another member of the cat family who is excelling in the leadership role of organizing the "Ladies Cricket Team" called the "Dixie Belle's". A wonderful person who has the ability to mingle in with the crowd. As a member of the Cat Curiosity Family, she is "pawing" her way further afield after Chiang Mai and is seeking wisdom from other countries.

Garry 'Handicap' Snashall: The touring party millionaire who has been released by the group, as in previous years, to support the umpiring panel. Always on the look out for capital gains, lets hope the cricket betting scandal doesn't return here. Has spent time, off season, developing a major relationship but all to no avail, looks like he will be trying to contact other interest parties whilst in Chiang Mai. Hopefully this wont effect the umpiring.

Valmae Cross: A Chiang Mai first-timer who really knows how to party lingerie parties at that. Seems that horses are more her go than cricket, but is prepared to give anything a go for the first time.

Rhonda 'Aggrrr' Vincent: Well known for her tolerance and control when the heat is on. Fitted in so well with the Postels crew last year, we have her back. Loves the game, enjoys the social fun and hails from that gold mining town of Kalgoorlie, so no problems with the climate in Thailand.
