Richard 'Richie Rich' Sulway: The Finance Officer who ensures that
our funds are kept at productive levels, so therefore we manage to have some
cash for the whole tour. Enjoys the heat, the game and the fire, but most
of all, he enjoys that very, very special Cold Beer.
Mark 'Doc' Thorgersen: What can one say about Doc, a long time tourist
who has developed great rapport with the locals and is admired so much that
when he hits town, his fan club is flocking (gee is that the best word) to
see him. Always willing to provide a refuse for the supporting or single parent
who is in need. Has gone out of his way on many a night to provide counselling,
what a guy, showing all that Aussie spirit.
Mike 'Admiral' Watson: Quiet pommie gentleman who is around when
needed but tends to wonder off at will to check out the sights. A regular
at the sixes and the SugarShack Bar, but has been spotted by Taverner Stirlo
in Phuket of all places. Are there bells in the air?
Cyrus 'Billy Ray' Maybud: Gentleman from Switzerland who is addicted
to Cricket Sixes and has adopted some Aussie mates. If a man can travel the
world playing cricket, also play cricket on ice, being in Chiang Mai is totally
natural for him! Loves to have a chat and a beer or two, as so many Postels
do.
Stan 'Easterner' Spink: A new Postel member with a difference, saw
the light and came west to the Postels. Warned that he may be too skilled,
fast and energetic, NO, I don't think so! He will fit in fine with this fine
bunch of Postels performers.
Martin 'Rock Hard' Ruhland: A major Swiss league player who has since
turned his aim back to Germany. Scored a century last season, but was that
on ice? Loved the Chiang Mai event so much in 2000 that he has been trying
to come back since. Oh, he likes a beer, he just may fit in with Richie and
crew.
Vinod 'Cookie' Balani: If his playing is anywhere near as hot as
his meals, he will do very well on the field. Loves his Postel's connection
and is grooming his son to carry on the Balani tradition as a future Postel
player (and Cook it seems!!).
Manote 'Boss' Mitrsomwang: Our Thai connection with CAT, has been
a valuable member in past years and the real Boss of the group. Was a founding
member of the Bangkok Postels! Will hopefully make a cameo appearance for
the side in 2002.
Absent Bangkok Postel: Kenny 'T/Bags' Bushell T/Bags is having a
year off and is expected back again next year, this is his first year off
since our first year in 1996! All those Friends in the streets will be shocked
when they cannot find him.
Supporters:
Tracy 'Sister' Thorgersen: With all the pressure work that the Doctor
has on his plate each tour nowadays, has called on the Sister to assist and
help give support at the bars with verbal counselling, and to help keep the
cricketer's adopting a "hard look" attitude. Has done some wonderful
pre-season work with Cougar and Kitten in raising team funds and has become
a treasured member.
Sara 'Porter' Sulway: This lady is choking at the bit to have a good
time on the tour. Richie's better half comes to Chiang Mai for the first time
to see if hearing is believing! Will enjoy the quiet relaxed life, sorry,
Come on Sara lets party.
Valeria Maybud: A true lady who can party with the best of them and
has become a true member of the Postels. Got her first true pass mark when
she handled Dixie and Kenny's antics at last years fancy dress night. A woman
that actually likes cricket we think.
Sureephorn 'Oi' Boonkiat: Has become a great friend and supporter
of the Postels over the past few years and we have seen that great bar of
hers grow (nothing to do with our business). Can always find a few Postels
sitting around the bar and club with a smile on her face.
Benny 'Barman': The SugarShack Man, runs the bar, runs the music,
runs the food and simply never stops running around. Has a great smile, has
been a great friendship with the Postels for many years. The Mr Fix-it of
the crew is always up to something.
